Shock Victim Services Held

HEREFORD -- Sept. 15 -- Funeral services for Leo Whittaker, grain elevator employe who was electrocuted Tuesday, were held at 3 p.m. today in the Assembly of God Church here.

Whittaker, 26, suffered a fatal electric shock Tuesday afternoon in an accident. at the Community Grain Co. elevator at Easter, 12 miles south of Hereford, where he was employed. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Deaf Smith County Hospital about 30 minutes later.

A native of Missouri, Mr. Whittaker had lived in Hereford for several years before moving back to St. Louis to work in an aircraft plant in 1956. He returned to Hereford three months ago.

Survivors include his wife, Gwendolyn and a son, Randy Brent, of Hereford; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Whittaker of Lebanon, Mo.; three brothers, Jerry Edward and Charles E. Whittaker, both of Lebanon, and Robert M. of Springfield, Mo.; two sisters, Carolyn Sue of Lebanon and Imogene Whittaker of Springfield.

The Rev. Alvin Askins, pastor of the Friona Assembly of God Church, officiated and burial was in West Park Cemetery under the direction of Marcum-Scott Funeral Home.
