Virginia Ethel Whitsett, 99, of Denver, Colo., died Wednesday in Manor Care Nursing Home in Denver.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 18, in West Park Cemetery with the Rev. H.W. Bartlett, pastor of Temple Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will be under direction of Gililland-Watson Funeral Home.

She was born July 30, 1894, in Ardmore, Okla. She moved to Deaf Smith County that year from Ardmore. She moved to Amarillo in 1948, then to Denver in 1984. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 312 in Hereford and a charter member of the Hereford Readers Club. She was a Baptist.

Survivors include a granddaughter, Freda K. Feeney of Watkins, Colo.

The family will be at the funeral home from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
