Eugene Reed Scott
September 5, 1931 - August 1, 2014

Eugene Reed Scott, 82, longtime Hereford resident died Friday, August 1, 2014 at Hereford Nursing & Rehab Center.

A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for 2:00 pm, Monday, August 4, 2014 at Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Watkins, Pastor officiating. Burial will follow in West Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hereford Heritage Funeral Home, 411 E 6th Street.

Eugene was born September 5, 1931 in Port Angeles, Washington, to Adelbert Baar and Marjorie Wurman. He married Geraldine Mays Scott on September 9, 1997 in Clovis, NM. Gene moved to Hereford in 1997 from NM. He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church. Gene loved his Lord and Savior. He loved to pull pranks and kid around with folks, dance, travel, attend family gatherings, play cards "Skippo", watch RFD TV and the News, and listen to church services on the TV and Radio. Gene was a former member of the Hereford VFW and American Legion and a member of the Methodist Men. Gene is an Honorably discharged veteran of the United States Navy.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Don Scott.

Survivors include his wife Geraldine of the home, 1 son, Rock Scott and wife Christina of ID, 3 daughters, Teresa Koval and husband Bob of Kent, WA, Jeanette Dring and husband Jacque of ID, Roberta Gonzales of CA, 1 brother, Ted Bland and wife Ensuk of FL, 1 sister, Dorene Kure of Port Angeles, WA, 1 step-son, Bill Frank and wife Barbara of Amarillo, 1 step-daughter, Sandra Taylor and husband Verl of Chattanooga, TN, 20 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the Gideons International, P. O. Box 703, Hereford, Texas 79045.
