Services Held Here For Old Time Cowboy
Funeral services for Charles I. "Dogie" Ward, 70, an old time cowboy and resident of Amarillo for the past 35 years, were held here last Thursday morning, January 25, from E.B. Black Chapel with Rev. W.E. Barnes, officiating. Mr. Ward was a brother of Mrs. E.W. Curtsinger, and a son of the late J.J. Ward who at one time was county treasurer here.
Besides Mrs. Curtsinger he is survived by two other sisters, Mrs. Buelah Brown of Justiceburg, and Mrs. Alice Fry of Portland, Ore.; and four brothers, Joe Ward of Glazier, Henry Ward of Fresno, Cal., Sam Ward of El Paso, and Jack Ward of Fort Smith, Ark.
Mr. Ward died at his home in Amarillo late on the night of January 23. Besides ranching he had been engaged in the transfer business.
Burial was in West Park Cemetery.
