Services for Willie A. Wilke, 84, of Slaton will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Slaton's First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bert Jarvis, pastor, officiating. The Rev. Herb Tavenner, a retired Methodist minister, will assist.

Burial will be in Englewood Cemetery under direction of Englunds Funeral Service.

Wilke died Wednesday, March 12, 1997, at his residence.

He was born July 9, 1912, in Lubbock County. He graduated from New Hope School, and he was a member of the Lutheran League Orchestra in the 1920s. He married Theresa Taylor on Oct. 15, 1932, in Clovis, N.M. He was a member of the Farm Bureau, and he was secretary of the Rea and the Germania Mutual Insurance Association. He was a member of Slaton's First United Methodist Church.
He retired from farming in January 1997.

Services for Theresa Wilke, 91, of Slaton will be 2 p.m. Sunday, August 10 in Englunds Chapel. Interment will follow in Slaton's Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service in Slaton.

Mrs. Wilke was born February 17, 1917 in Oklahoma. She came to Texas as child. On October 15, 1932, Theresa married Willie Wilke in 1932. She was a farmer's wife in the Posey area. Willie preceded her in death in March of 1997, as did her grandson, Mike Kincer.
Theresa was a member of Slaton's First United Methodist Church.
