Hereford, Texas, Aug. 30 - Victor and Thomas Simpson [sic], the two brothers who were found dead new [sic] Kenna, N.M. Sunday, were buried here today. The two men, with the mules to their wagon were struck by a bolt of lightning while driving to their claims. Their bodies were not found till Tuesday, when a party of prospectors came upon the outfit while looking up some land. After sofe [sic] difficulty the men were identified and prepared for shipment to their homes.

The bodies were then shipped here, where the Simpsons had lived, but through some mistake the telegraph operator failed to get their names. After some delay, it was finally necessary to open the coffins and examine the corpses before the authorities knew what to do with them.

One of the brothers has a family in Hereford, but owing to some mistake on the part of the railroad people, no telegram or other notification reached his family and the first intelligence to the family of the bodies having been shipped came after the coffins had been opened to identify the corpses. The undertakers then arranged for the interrment [sic], but could find no one to dig the grave. After considerable delay some of the citizens volunteered and the two brothers were buried.
