Graveside services for Avis M. Woods, 91, of Slaton will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Englewood Cemetery with the Rev. Ken Horn officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
She died Saturday, May 4, 2002.
She was born May 25, 1910, in Holliday. She moved with her family to Slaton in 1915. She graduated from high school in Slaton in 1927. She married Fred Lee Woods on Dec. 27, 1927, in Slaton. He died April 29, 1966.
She graduated from cosmetology school in Lubbock in 1941 and lived in Slaton until 1968, when she moved to Arkansas. She worked for the Garret Hotel chain and later the Hilton Hotels in Arkansas. She returned to Slaton in 1970.
Survivors include a daughter, Roma Charissee Ross of Houston; a brother, W.L. Housour Jr. of Lubbock; a sister, Adelee Burleson of Post; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
