Funeral services for Doak B. Hearne, 80, of Kyle, TX, will be held Saturday, August 13, 2016, at 2:00 PM in the First United Methodist Church of Seagraves with Reverend Beverly Titus officiating. Interment will follow in the Gaines County Seagraves Cemetery under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home. He passed away August 10, 2016 in San Marcos.

Doak was born November 20, 1935, in Lubbock, Texas to Doak and Dorothy Hearne. Doak was a dispatcher for Vulcan Chemicals and was transferred to Geismar, Louisiana where he met his future wife Janice Lorensten in 1981 at "Parents without Partners". They married February 19, 1983 in Baton Rouge, LA. Doak and Janice loved to travel, he enjoyed new cars, LSU sports, Texas Tech football, the New Orleans Saints, and was very family oriented. They moved back to Texas in 2015 to reconnect with his Texas roots.

He is survived by his wife, Janice of Kyle; two sons, Perry Hearne of Austin and Bill Hearne of Hobbs, NM; also, three daughters, Susan McPherson of Seminole Haley Prickett of Lexington, SC, and Claire David of Gonzales, LA; along with 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
