Funeral services for Ernest L. Wade, 69, Deaf Smith County Justice of the Peace, were conducted at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the First United Methodist Church here. The Rev. Clifford Trotter, pastor, officiated. Burial was in West Park Cemetery by Gililland Funeral Home.

Mr. Wade was found dead at his home Sunday morning of an apparent heart attack.

Born in Jack County, he came to Hereford in 1918 and married Miss Nadine Avent on Oct. 12, 1935 at Canyon.

He was in the cleaning business before he became Justice of the Peace in 1966.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Mochau of Hereford; brothers, W.H. Wade of Redlands, Calif., F.E. Wade of Amarillo, R.D. Wade of Albuquerque; sisters, Mrs. William Gentry of Tucson, Ariz., Mrs. Laura West of Albuquerque and Mrs. J.R. Stevenson of Amarillo and four grandchildren.

Nadine A. Hill, 81, of Hereford, died Monday.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the pastor, Dr. Ed Williamson, and the Rev. Lanny Wheeler, chaplain of Kings Manor. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery, by Rix Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Hill was born in Taylor County and came to Hereford from Tulia in 1935, the same year she married Ernest Wade. He died in 1969. She married Francis Hill in 1974. He preceded her in death, also, in 1982.

An employee of Hereford State Bank for 20 years before retiring, Mrs. Hill was a member of First United Methodist Church and belonged to several bridge clubs. She was a charter member of Kings Manor Foundation and Beta Sigma Phi. She also had belonged to Bud and Blossom Garden Club.

Survivors are a grandson, Steve Sanders of Hereford; two stepsons, Wallace Hill of Amarillo and Cameron Hill; two brothers, Jack Avent of Lake Tanglewood and BillAvent of Amarillo; three sisters, Berniece Oden of Hereford, Madeline Reck of Claude and Melba Neelley of Lubbock, and six great-grandchildren.

The family has requested that memorials be directed to the Kings Manor Foundation or American Cancer Society. Friends may visit with the family Wednesday at First United Methodist Church from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m.
