Eva Lee (Welch) Burnett, 92 years young, of Andrews, went to be with our Lord & Savior on Sunday, January 1, 2017.

She passed peacefully from this earth at her daughters home in Andrews.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at the First Baptist Church, 201 NE 2nd Street, in Andrews with Rev. Johnny Touchstone, Chaplain of Star Hospice in Odessa, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Andrews West Cemetery under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home in Andrews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 -7 PM at the funeral home.

Eva Lee was born June 1, 1924 in Anson, TX to James (Jim) Monroe and Mona Lee (McIlwain) Welch and was the oldest of 7 children.

She graduated from Snyder High School in 1941. After graduation, she went to business school in Abilene and became a secretary at the airbase in Carlsbad, NM, where she met the love of her life. Because of WWII, she had to get special permission to quit her job, so she could marry him. She married J.G. Burnett on March 29, 1944 in Carlsbad. She was married in a light blue dress, because white fabric could not be found due to the war. They moved to Andrews in 1963 after purchasing a farm southeast of town.

She worked as a seamstress, a baker, a homemaker, a gardener, and a farmers wife.
She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing, baking, going on family campouts, and working her word finds.

She loved time with family, and adored playing with her four-legged companion, Macie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.G. on November 16, 2005, her parents, 1 brother, 1 sister, 1 son in law, 1 granddaughter, and 1 great grandson.
Eva Lee is survived by her children, Sue Penny and husband, Glenn, of Andrews, Charlotte Ramsay of Andrews, Belinda Hall and husband, Mark, of San Marcos, Weston Burnett and wife, Debbie, of Andrews and Velon Burnett and wife, Martha, of Houston; her siblings, Billy Welch and wife, Katherine, of Amarillo, Charles Welch and wife, Katherine, of Lamesa, Tommy Welch and wife, Nell, of College Station, Jimmie Sue Folmar of Denver City; brother in law, Ronnie Stone of Lubbock; 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be; James Williams, Joshua Nichols, Michael Welch, Billy Jack Welch, Kaleb Clark and Bryan Spencer. Honorary pallbearers will be; Jason Cave, Ben Huddleston, Glenn Penny, Mark Hall, Corey Bruton, Jerry Penny, Greg Nichols, Nicholas Doherty, Austin Hogan and Dalton Penny

The family would like to thank those from Star Hospice for their love and support.
We appreciate you for all you did for our mother and us.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to Star Hospice, 620 North Grant, Suite 100, Odessa, TX 79761.
