Obituary:
Roy R. Saylor, 87, of Amarillo, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2000.
No services are planned. Cremation and other arrangements were by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St.
Mr. Saylor was born in Copper Creek, Ky. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Normandy. He received a number of medals, including the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster and the Purple Heart.
He worked more than 46 years for Santa Fe Railway in Amarillo.
He married Peggy Steinert in 1957 at Canyon.
Survivors include his wife; a stepdaughter, Onlee Boswell of Lubbock; a brother, Howard Saylor of Richmond, Ky.; two sisters, Carolyn Hopkins of Walker, La., and Margarett Morin of Kentucky; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to World Harvest Christian Center, P.O. Box 3183, Lubbock, TX 79452.
