James "Buddy" Anderson, 67, of Coahoma, died Monday, June 18, 2012, at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at the Coahoma Cemetery with Eddy Pitchford, officiating.

The family will receive friends following the services at the Coahoma Church of Christ.

He was born March 26, 1945, in Big Spring, Texas and married Cynthia Clevenger July 18, 1970 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Buddy was a life long resident of Howard County and graduated from Coahoma High School in 1963. He and his brother, Lonnie, owned and operated the Lil Sooper Market in Coahoma for many years, retiring in 2010. He had been a member of the Coahoma Jaycees and Coahoma Lions Club for many years and was a member of Coahoma Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Anderson of Coahoma; one son, Todd Anderson and wife, Vinda of Midland; one daughter, Tess Justiss and husband, Pat of Coleman; four grandchildren, Brice Anderson, Bailey Anderson, Erin Justiss and Kennedy Justiss; two sisters, Wanda Davis and husband, Monty of Cheyenne, Wyoming and Phyllis Scroggins and husband, Delbert of Big Spring; and numerous nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Vera Dell Anderson; two brothers, Lonnie Anderson and Joe Anderson; and one sister, Linda Dell Anderson.

The family suggests memorials be made to a favorite charity.
