BIG SPRING -- Paul Gene Alexander, 69, of Big Spring died Thursday, Oct. 26, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Albuquerque. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, at Myers & Smith Chapel, with Randy Deubler of Albuquerque, Paul's brother-in-law, officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. today, Oct. 29, at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.

He was born Aug. 27, 1937, in Big Spring to Ova and Elton Alexander. He served in the U. S. Navy, he began his law enforcement career with the Big Spring Police Department where he achieved the rank of Detective Sergeant. He then served as a Deputy Sheriff in Ector County. He later joined the Snyder Police Department as a criminal investigator.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Alexander of Big Spring; two sons, Gary Alexander of Dover, Arka., and Todd Alexander of Weatherford; two step-sons, Michael "Mike" White of Scottsboro, Alabama and Randy White Ontiveros of Big Spring; two step-daughters, Peggy Barringer of Mansfield, La. and Kimberly Conaway James of Cassville, Mo; one brother; six sisters; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
