Cherie Dorton, 60, of Big Spring died Thursday, June 22, 2006, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday at Coahoma Cemetery with Rev. Doug Shelley, pastor of East Side Baptist Church, officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 PM Friday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
She was born September 19, 1945, in Arkansas to Rosemary and Ralph Krueger. She was employed at the Big Spring State Hospital for 27 years, retiring due to ill health. She was a lifetime resident of Howard County and was a member of The First Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by 4 sons: Louis Dorton and his wife Virginia of Lubbock, Paul Krueger of Ft. Worth, Shon Krueger and Michael Krueger, both of Big Spring; 1 daughter: Kristina Hembree of Big Spring; parents: Roy and Rosemary Collins of Lubbock; and 8 grandchildren: Jacob Dorton, Susannah Dorton, Chelsey Krueger, Chance Krueger, D. J. Hembree, Kara Hembree, Ashley Hembree, and Codey Hembree.
Arrangements are by Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
