Edward "Red" King, 65, of Big Spring died at 1:15 AM Sunday, December 25, 2005, at his residence. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Coahoma Cemetery with Rev. Elwin Collom, pastor of First Baptist Church of Coahoma, officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:00 PM Monday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
He was born August 25, 1940, in Natalia, Texas to Helen and W. C. King. Edward was a lifetime resident of Howard and Mitchell County and was a retired truck driver.
He is survived by his wife: Virginia King of Big Spring; 2 daughters: Julie Proctor and her husband Bubba of Cloudcroft, New Mexico and Debra King of Colorado City; 1 son: James Hayes and his wife Geri of Crystal Beach, Texas; 7 grandchildren: Russell Whitesides, Courtney Proctor, Kelsey Proctor, Kingslee King, Laremi King, MaKena King and Miranda Hayes; 2 brothers: Earl King and his wife Melissa and Gerald King, all of Coahoma; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Bill King and Donnie King.
Arrangements are by Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
