"Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home",Big Spring, TX. -- Bobby L. Myrick, 65, of Sterling City, died on Sunday, September 12, 2004, at Lake Buchanan, Llano County. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Wednesday, September 15, 2004 at the First Presbyterian Church in Sterling City with Rev. John Wintringham, pastor, officiating, assisted by Ken Barr. Interment will follow at 4:30 PM at the Coahoma Cemetery in Coahoma. The family will recieve friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.

He was born on August 16, 1939, in Big Spring, Howard County, and married JoDell Shelburne, on October 28, 1961, in Coahoma. Bobby had lived in Sterling City for 37 years and was an independent oilfield contractor for 40 years. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting with bow or firearms, fishing, gardening, fastpitch softball, dominoes, and watching football. He was well known for sharing things from his garden, including hot peppers and homemade sauces. He never met a stranger and enjoyed meeting with friends for morning coffee at the Town and Country. Bobby was very supportive of his children's and grandchildren's school activities.

Survivors include his wife, JoDell Myrick; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert Bruce and Joy Myrick, David Wayne Myrick, and James Gregory and Sheryl Myrick; four granddaughters, Shaunna, Whitney, Shayna and Jessica; one grandson, Gregory; one sister, Peggy Bishop; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dan and Paula Shelburne; one nephew, Dean King; and numerous aunts, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, A. C. and Lerline Myrick; and two granddaughters, Jordan and Kailin. The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association or a favorite charity. Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
