Obituary from Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home, Big Spring, TX –

Rex A. Shive, 75, of Coahoma, died on Thursday, February 9, 2006, at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 11, 2006 at the Coahoma Cemetery with Tom Koger, pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Coahoma, officiating and Rev. Allen Guthrie, retired Presbyterian minister, assisting. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.

He was born on January 11, 1931, in Big Spring, Texas and married Cleo Little on August 8, 1948 in Coahoma, Texas. Mr. Shive was a lifelong resident of Howard County and farmed near Coahoma before retiring in 1996. He had also worked for Cosden for 19 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Coahoma.

Survivors include his wife, Cleo Shive of Coahoma; one son, Rob Shive; two daughters, Sharon Van Den Houten and husband, Walter and Janene Shive Gryder; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Percy Nolan and Ruth Wolf Shive. The family suggests memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Box 94, Coahoma, Texas 79511 or to Odyssey Hospice, 1003 E. FM 700, Big Spring, Texas 79720. Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.

Cleo Donsella Little Shive of Abilene, formerly of Coahoma, died Sunday, March 1, 2020, at Chisholm Place Assisted Living in Abilene, TX. She was surrounded by family, friends, and her two beloved cats.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 7, 2020, at the Coahoma Cemetery with Reverend Tom Koger officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, March 6, 2020, at Nalley Pickle Welch Funeral Home in Big Spring, TX.

Cleo was born November 6, 1931, to Susie (Zada) Weaver Little and William Henry Little in Coleman, TX. She married Rex A. Shive August 8, 1948, in Coahoma, TX. They were married 58 years prior to his death. She was a wife, Mom, and homemaker. Cleo was a member of the Coahoma Presbyterian Church for many years, becoming an Elder of the Church and received the honor of Lifetime Membership in the Presbyterian Women of the Church. She had many other interests in life including reading, sewing, crafting, and painting. Cleo also loved her town and living in the country on the family farm.

She and Rex had three children, Rob Shive who preceded her in death, Sharon Shive VanDenHouten of Abilene, TX, and Janene Shive Gryder of San Angelo, TX; three grandchildren, Lisa Vasile of Seattle, WA, Kimberly Godines of Abilene, TX and Amy Gryder of San Angelo, TX; and 4 great grandchildren.

She was greatly loved by her family and she loved her family so much. We will miss her and her sense of humor, wisdom and strength which enriched all of our lives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, two sisters and two brothers.
Pallbearers will be Walter VanDenHouten, Johnny Godines, Jaedon Godines, Joe Best, John Best, Michael Brooks and Tommy Scott.
