Charles "Charlie" Thompson, 73, of Big Spring, died Sunday November 17, 2013 at his residence. The family will receive friends Wednesday 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Myers & Smith Chapel with Danny Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Coahoma Cemetery.

He was born December 14, 1939 in Carlsbad, N.M. to Louise and James Thompson. He married Carolyn Gring March 29, 1958 in Kermit. They came to Big Spring in 1972 from Kermit. He was a chemical engineer and worked for Cabot from 1961 to 1975 in Kermit, Pampa, Louisiana and Big Spring. From 1975 to 2010 he was owner and operator of T & T Electric. He was a Methodist.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn Thompson of Big Spring; one son: Jeff Thompson of Coahoma; one daughter: Lisa Duggan of Big Spring; four grandchildren: Jennifer Hernando and husband Richard of Australia, Rabecca Earhart and Austin Pace of Houston, Kyle Earhart of Midland and Haley Pace of Big Spring; two great grandchildren: Shalynn Hernando and Kaydee Hernando both of Australia; one sister Barbara Bailey and husband Warren of Clyde; a number of nieces and nephews and one great niece and namesake Charley June Thompson.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two daughters Diana Thompson and Kimberly Aiken and one sister Nina Fowler.
