Ramona M. Tijerina, 62, of Big Spring, died Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Hospice Inpatient Unit of Midland. Vigil services will be at 7:00 PM Tuesday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Myers & Smith Chapel with Rev. Doug Shelley and Rev. Jeff Davison officiating. Burial will follow at Coahoma Cemetery.

She was born July 11, 1949 in Littlefield, Texas. She grew up in Coahoma and has lived most of her life in Howard County. She attended Howard College and received her Bachelor’s @ Sul Ross University. She was a Social Worker for Big Spring State Hospital and worked in Human Resources at CPS. She was a Christian.

She is survived by one son Duncan Sanchez and wife Beatrice of Big Spring; three sisters: Marie Pulver of Big Spring, Rosa Hernandez of Ft. Worth and Alvina Arguello and husband Danny of Big Spring; one brother: Domingo Hernandez, Jr., and wife Mary of Houston and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Albina Hernandez and father Domingo Hernandez, Sr., and one brother Juan Hernandez. Arrangements are by Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
