BIG SPRING -- J.L. "Toby" White, 74, of Big Spring died Saturday, Nov. 25, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28 at Myers & Smith Chapel with the Rev. Don Snipes, pastor of Baptist Temple Church of Big Spring, and the Rev. Dave Phillips, pastor of West Side Baptist Church of Snyder, officiating. Burial with military honors will be at the Coahoma Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today, Nov. 27 at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.

He was born April 17, 1932, in Stanton to Iva May and Talmer L. White. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He married Dorthea Turner, Nov. 30, 1994 in Big Spring.

He was a member of Baptist Temple Church.

He is survived by his wife, Dorthea White of Big Spring; ten children, Brenda Hovarth of Waxahachie, Glenda Wall of San Antonio, David White of Nunnelly, Tenn., Terry White of San Antonio, Jimmy Steve Smith of Comanche, Darrel Smith of Arkansas, Lisa Marie Boyles of San Angelo, Robert Turner of Coahoma, Brenda Elmore of Coahoma and Billy Turner of Big Spring; one brother and three sisters, Luther Lee White of Malta, Idaho, Lois Thomas of Big Spring and Wynona Searl of Euless.
