Robert Gene "Bob" Zilbert, better known as "Papaw Bob", 74, of San Angelo passed away Thursday, March 9, 2006. Family visitation was from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday evening, March 12, at Johnson's Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 9 a.m. Monday, March 13, 2006, in Johnson?s Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Paul Shero officiating. Burial will follow in Coahoma Cemetery in Coahoma, Texas.

He was raised in Minnesota, and after graduation from high school, he joined the Air Force and was stationed in Big Spring, Texas; where he met and married Barbara Sue Wilson. They were married for 44 years and had two children. She has preceded him in death.

He is survived by children Bonnie Sue Robinson (Marty) of Corpus Christi and Robert Bruce Zilbert (Melissa) of San Antonio; three grandchildren, Sam Robinson, Chase Zilbert and Cody Zilbert; close companion, Pat Fields; brother David Zilbert; sister Carol Brown; sister-in-law Diane Claugh; niece Brenda Devries; nephew John Zilbert; and his church family from Southgate Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donation be made in Bob?s memory to the American Diabetes Association, the American Cancer Association or the American Heart Association.
