Velma M. Zickefoose departed this life February 14, 2009, at the age of 91 years. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 24 at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel with Pastor David Luke officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, February 23 from 5:30 to 6:30 at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Mrs. Zickefoose was born February 8, 1918, in Paxico, Kan. to Emil and Lillie Anderson. She married George D. Zickefoose July 16, 1949. He preceded her in death May 15, 1967. Mrs. Zickefoose was a long time resident of Lubbock, having moved here in 1950. She worked for Womack's Baby Shop for 25 years. She was a member of Northside Church of Christ.
She is survived by her children, Karen Borunda and husband Ralph of Euless, Roy Zickefoose and wife Lynda of Lubbock, and Lynn Zickefoose and wife Mary of Lubbock. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
