Services for Ottis L. "Bill" Bradford, 75, of Big Spring will be at 4 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Big Spring with Kenneth Patrick, chaplain of Baptist Memorials in San Angelo, and the Rev. Dennis Teeters, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Trinity Memorial Park under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

He died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2002.

He was born May 10, 1927, in Brazos. He married Averil Harris on June 11, 1960, in Big Spring. He came to Big Spring in February of 1952. He worked for Fina Oil and Chemical for 27 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He served as a deacon and an usher and had been a Sunday school teacher.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1946. He worked with Boy Scouts 57 years and was also active in Girl Scouts for many years. He was awarded the Silver Beaver Award for Adults from the Boy Scouts and The Good Shepherd Award from the American Baptist Association for scouting. He had served as scout master for Troop 5 for 30 years and served on the Lone Star Boy Scout Committee. He was a lifetime member and past president of the American Business Club. He was a member of Staked Plains Lodge No. 598 AF&AM and an active member of the Gideon's International.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Lavelle Vinson of Albany; a brother, Leo Galen of San Antonio; two sisters, Mary Francis Gough and Barbara Lewis, both of Graham; and two grandchildren.
