Cleta Faye Britton, 89, of Big Spring, died Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Midland Memorial Hospital.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Monday at the First United Methodist Church, with Bill Ivins, pastor of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

She was born January 12, 1926 in Big Spring, Texas to Mamie E. (Choate) Hill and Robert N. Hill.

She married M. K. Britton on May 19, 1962 in Sweetwater, Texas. He preceded her in death on September 29, 1988.

She was a lifetime resident of Big Spring and graduated from Big Spring High School in 1944.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She worked at various retail businesses in Big Spring.

She was Past President of Big Spring Downtown Lions Club from 2005-2006 and was Secretary Treasurer of Howard and Glasscock Old Settlers Reunion for many years. In the early 60's, she was the Chairperson for Howard County Easter Seal Chairperson.

She is survived by her son Guy Teague of Big Spring; a step-daughter: Ellen Powers of Spring; one brother: Bill Hill of Scottsdale, AZ; four sisters: Jane Farmer of Midland, Nila Jo Smith of Odessa, Barbara Duncan of Abilene and Virginia Ziemer of Dallas; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter Tina Larue, her step-son Kenneth Britton; her brother Bobby Hill and great grandson Kelby Cox.

The family suggests memorials to Dora Roberts Rehabilitation Center, 306 W. 3rd Street, Big Spring, TX 79720 or Heritage Museum, 510 Scurry Street, Big Spring, TX 79720.
