Billy O. Brown, 83, of Ackerly, died Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the Sage Health Care Center in Lamesa. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, June 2, at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring.

The family will receive friends beginning at 11:30 AM Monday just prior to services at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

Billy was born February 2, 1931 in Ackerly and married Gracie Oaks , August 22, 1951. They made their home and farmed in Ackerly all their life.

Billy loved to hunt and play with his grandkids. He served on the Gin Board at Ackerly and was a member of the Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Gracie Brown of Ackerly; one son, Terry Brown of Ackerly; two grandchildren, D'nae Reyna and husband, Cody of Lubbock, and Billy B. Brown of Austin; five great grandchildren, Colten, Ashlyn, Lauren, Madison, and Braedyn; and one sister, Dovie Batson of Ackerly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bayles and Bevie (Terry) Brown and one brother, Troy Brown.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Children's Home of Lubbock, PO Box 2824, Lubbock, TX 79408.
