Ross J. Callihan, 86, of Big Spring, died on Friday, July 21, 2006, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Don Snipes, pastor of Baptist Temple, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

He was born on December 6, 1919, in Howard County, Texas and married Mildred Cauble on July 8, 1945 in Big Spring, Texas.

Ross was a lifelong resident of Big Spring and had worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as a switchman.

He served in the United States Army during World War II.

He was a member of the Baptist Temple Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Callihan of Big Spring; two sons, Lawrence Bradley Callihan and Alton Gordon Callihan; one daughter, Sherri Wigington of Big Spring; one sister, Geneva Roberts of Big Spring; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Troy Hogue Memorial Fund at Howard College, 1001 Birdwell Lane, Big Spring, Texas 79720 or to Baptist Temple Church, 400 E. 11th Place, Big Spring, Texas 79720.
