BIG SPRING - Dalton Friend Carr, 77, died Friday, April 21, 2000, in a local nursing home.

Service will be at 2p.m. Tuesday in the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with burial in Trinity Memorial Park.

He was born on March 8, 1923, in Vincent and was a lifetime resident of Big Spring.

An Army veteran of World War II, he owned and operated Creighton Tire Company and was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Emma Carr of Big Spring; two sons, Rodney W. Carr and Richard Dalton Carr, both of Big Spring; a daughter, Rhonda H. Harding of Vincent; two brothers, Bryan Carr and Jackie Carr, both of Big Spring; and four grandchildren. Obituary the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

Emma Rose Carr Roach, 92, of Big Spring, died Thursday, May 18, 2017 in a local nursing home. Memorial services will be held at later date.

She was born November 2, 1924 in Big Spring, Texas and married Dalton Carr January 1, 1947 in Big Spring. He preceded her in death April 21, 2000. She then married Jerry Roach September 5, 2007 in Big Spring.

Emma was a lifelong resident of Big Spring and graduated from Big Spring High School. She worked as a secretary for First Baptist Church for many years and also as the secretary at Creighton Tire Company. After retiring she sat with the elderly for a number of years.

She loved to sew, crochet and cook, and to share the baked goods she made. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Roach of Big Spring; a daughter, Rhonda Harding and husband, Joe Pat of Vincent; two sons, Rodney Carr and Richard Carr both of Big Spring; three grandchildren, Emileh Flitton and husband, Johnny of Midland, Sarah Harding of Vincent and Clay Harding of Kent; two great-grandchildren, Ryland Cypert and Duncan Cypert; a step-daughter, Jacklyn Roach of Hurst; and two nieces and two nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Walter J. and Emma M. Weir; a son, Randy Carr; and a grandson, John Harding.

The family suggests memorials to the John Harding Memorial Scholarship Fund, % Borden County ISD, P. O. Box 95, Gail, Texas 79738 or to Home Hospice, 111, E. 7th St., Suite A, Big Spring, Texas 79720.
