Blanche Carter, 93, of Big Spring died Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM until 6:30 PM Monday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Trinity Memorial Park.

She was born August 17, 1919, at Tye, Texas to Stella Irene and John Thomas Casady. She married Jim Frost Carter on September 28, 1949. They moved to Big Spring in 1963 from Temple, Texas. He preceded her in death on April 19, 1978. She was a homemaker and a member of Baptist Temple Church. She was a volunteer at the Big Spring V. A. Medical Center and received an outstanding service award. She had been a member of the Hot Potato Band. She played the guitar, piano, organ, fiddle, and mandolin, all which were self-taught.

She is survived by one son: Jimmy Ray Carter of Big Spring; one daughter: Cathy Jean Carter of Big Spring; one grandson: Christopher James Carter of Big Spring.; many nieces and nephews; and her Baptist Temple Church Family.
