Carla Collinsworth, 69, of Big Spring died Sunday, November 30, 2014, in Lubbock.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM Wednesday at Myers & Smith Chapel with burial at Trinity Memorial Park.

Carla was born December 16, 1944, in Borger, Texas to Helen Kathryn "Kate" Fowler Gidley and Berkley Carl "Buck" Gidley.

She moved to Big Spring in 1985 from Coleman.

She received her Bachelor's Degree from UTPB in Odessa.

She taught English at the Big Spring High School.

She is survived by one son: Rob Dennis and his wife Ashley of Nashville, Tennessee; one daughter: Angela Smithie of Big Spring; three step-sons: Rick Collinsworth and his wife Cindy of Amarillo, Cary Collinsworth of Alamogordo, and Cam Collinsworth and his wife Angie of Dallas; one sister: Gloria Gibson and her husband Mainess of Houston; thirteen grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: James Collinsworth on March 8, 2014.
