Natalie Unfred of Lubbock departed this life on Aug. 26, 2008, at the age of 82 years. She was born to Acie and Zelma (Cunningham) Bailey on Feb.15, 1926, in Lynn County. Natalie attended New Home High School graduating in 1942. Natalie attended Texas Tech University where she studied pre-law. She married L.C. Unfred in 1944 in New Home. He preceded her in death on July 25, 2008. Natalie was a member of New Home Baptist Church having served there as Head of the Young People's Department, Sunday School teacher and member of the building committee.
Natalie was a past member of the Women's Cotton Promotion Association of the High Plains of Texas. She enjoyed painting and traveling extensively with her husband, L.C.
Those left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Tanya Thomas and husband Dr. Malcolm Thomas of Lubbock; one son, Randy Unfred; and one grandson, Derek Thomas of Austin.
Natalie is preceded in death by her husband, L.C.; and one great-grandson, Dylan Thomas.
