Tommie Salmon Bryans Cooper, 88, of Big Spring, died on Friday, February 18, 2011, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at the 14th and Main Church of Christ with Rick Cunningham, minister, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

She was born on December 15, 1922, on the Salmon Ranch, near Nocona in Montague County.

She married William Aubrey Bryans on November 28, 1942 in Lubbock, Texas. He preceded her in death on November 22, 1990. She then married A. A. Cooper on July 19, 1992 in Nocona, Texas. He preceded her in death on March 19, 2007.

Tommie graduated from the Academy of Mary Immaculate in Wichita Falls. She attended Hardin Junior College (now Midwestern State University) in Wichita Falls, graduating in 1942.

Tommie was a longtime resident of Big Spring. She worked as the secretary for the base commander at Webb Air Force Base for many years before retiring from the Civil Service in 1978. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club; the Professional Secretary's Association; the Order of the Eastern Star, New Braunfels Chapter No 971; the local assembly of the Social Order of the Beauceant and was an avid bridge. player.

She was a member of 14th and Main Church of Christ.

Survivors include one brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Jane Salmon on Lubbock; three nephews, David Salmon and wife, Jeannette of The Colony, Tommy Salmon and wife, Cindy of Big Spring and Kirk Salmaon and wife, Christy of Lubbock; and seven great nieces & nephews, Tyler, Hannah, Angela, Austin, Dustin, Aubrey and Ryan.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Hoben Howard Salmon.

The family suggests memorials be made to 14th and Main Church of Christ, Big Spring.
