Lillie Elizabeth Craven, 86, peacefully passed from this life to eternal life on April 12, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the Trinity Baptist Church with Dr. Randy Cotton, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday, April 15, 2012, Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

Beth was born to William Aaron and Mary Jeanetta Sims-Beck on February 15, 1927 in Olustee, Oklahoma. Her father was a carpenter by trade, and her mother was a homemaker. She was number seven of ten children. She married Claude Neal Craven on August 4, 1945 in Wellington, TX, and they later moved to Arlington, TX where he attended Bible Baptist Seminary and became a minister of the gospel. She was a faithful, devoted pastor's wife and a great encourager to her husband until his death in April, 2005, but she preferred to be "behind-the-scenes."

She was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church in Big Spring for almost 50 years, and she loved her TBC family. Her passion was daily Bible study, and she was a prayer warrior - praying daily for her family, her church family and other friends. She loved to make homemade cinnamon rolls for others. She also loved sewing and particularly quilting. Many family members have "Nonnie" quilts as she was determined to make a quilt for as many as she possibly could. She was known to have a houseful of children during the summer months for many years as she wanted her grandchildren to know each other and have time together. In December 2012, she moved to Lubbock, TX so that daughter, Jan, and son, Richard, could keep a closer watch on her, and she temporarily moved her membership to New Testament Baptist Church where her son, Richard, is Pastor.

She is survived by one brother, Lawrence Ray Beck and wife, Mary Jo, of Hollis, OK; three daughters and two sons - Jeanetta Claudene Christopher and husband, Neil, of Lubbock; Carolyn Marlene Schalk and husband, Joe, of Grand Forks, ND; Patricia Jean Hasting and husband, Ricki, of Elkmont, AL; Dana Lee Craven and wife, Marion, of Oxford, AL and Richard Dwaine Craven and wife, Melanie, of Lubbock; 14 grandchildren - Tonda Moody Hayworth, Toni Moody Cope, Bethany Schalk Ouellette, Jordan Schalk, Tiffany Robertson Collins, Tina Hasting Wells, Lori Hasting, Heather Craven Mouser, Glen Craven, Daffaney Craven Chambers, Marilee Gonzales, J.C. Watkins, Jodie Craven and Zachery Craven; 33 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude N. Craven; a son-in-law, Leonard Moody; two granddaughters, Jennifer Craven Dominguez and Cathy Craven Hickox; a great-granddaughter, Katie Beth Cope; both of her parents and eight of her siblings.

Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring. Online condolences can be made at: www.npwelch.com. Obituary www.npwelch.com
