Memorial Service for Bill Yeary, 82, of Lubbock, will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 27, 2006 at Sanders Memorial Chapel. Private burial will be held at a later date in the City of Littlefield Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
Bill was born on July 11, 1924 in Littlefield to the late Elbert and Maude Yeary and passed away on November 23, 2006 in Lubbock.
He served in the US Army Air Corp. Bill married Jean Bearden in Progress, TX. He worked for Southwestern Public Service for 15 years before retiring in 1986. Bill was a member of Quaker Avenue Church of Christ, Hub City Wheels Trailer Club; was a Boy Scouts Scoutmaster, and the president of the Retirees Club.
Survivors include his wife, Jean; a daughter, Brenda Prestegard of Houston; a son, Russell Yeary of Midland; three grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Bill is preceded in death by a daughter, Kay Lanette Yeary, in 1971, and a brother, Elbert Clyde Yeary in 2002.
