Funeral services for CJ (Connie) Harvick Haggard will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September7, 2015 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews, Texas. Visitation will be Sunday, September 6, 2015 evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at McNett Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Andrews Old Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

She died Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock, Texas following a brief illness. Born March 17, 1946 in Lamesa, Texas to Delbert and Connie Conway Harvick, she was a graduate of Permian High school in Odessa, Texas. She married Glen Haggard February 2, 1973 in Andrews and for many years she was the owner and agent at Harvick Insurance, a local insurance company. She had lived in Andrews for many years before moving to Lubbock three months ago to be closer to her son and his family. While living here she and her husband were very involved in several charities and the Andrews Booster Club, and rarely missed a sporting event. As she always said, “We love Our Andrews Mustangs.” Harvick enjoyed a number of hobbies over the years, including crocheting, stained glass and making decorative items. But mostly she enjoyed visiting with family and friends.

She made her small family her priority all her life. Then she had a grandchild, Ian Glen Haggard. He was the light of her life and her pride and joy. She and Ian spent many days and hours doing crafts and cooking, one of her favorite things to do. She always said she didn’t know she wanted grandchildren until Ian was born, then she learned a “different level of love.”

Haggard was preceded in death by her, husband, Glen Haggard in 1998; father, Delbert Harvick in 1987; her mother, Connie Harvick in 2014; her sister, Dawn, in 1988.

She is survived by one son, Jay Haggard of Lubbock and his wife, Christine; one grandson, Ian Glen Haggard of Lubbock; two stepchildren, Briana Haggard of Odessa; Brian Haggard and family of Snyder; and many friends.
