Kathleen “Sue” Goddard Schulz, 85, died after a short illness December 28, 2021 at Ashton Medical Lodge surrounded by family.

She was born July 31, 1936, in Comanche County, TX, the daughter of Van. O Goddard and Cressie P. Barnes. She grew up in Tomball, TX.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews, Texas with Craig Bedenbender officiating. Internment will follow in the Andrews Old Cemetery under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2:00 - 5:00 PM at the funeral home.

Kathleen attended Sam Houston State University, studying English Literature. She was a member of Philo Sorority, which later became Sigma Gamma Rho. She married Donald Wimberly in 1959 and together they had three children; Pamela (nee’ Gheen), Patrick and Gary Schulz. She later divorced Donald and moved on to work for Mission Manufacturing in Houston, TX. There she met her husband Leroy H. Schulz after being set-up on a blind date. They married on January 15, 1966. Together they had Susan Jelley nee’ Schulz and Leroy Junior. Kathleen was a homemaker until the 1980’s when she and Leroy began their own business, LZS Cooperation, where she acted as the secretary. She later became the CEO of LZS Cooperation in 1997, after Leroy Seniors’ passing. She was a Pink Lady for Permian General Hospital, giving of her time and spirit. She had a love for travel, having traveled all over the West and Midwest of America. She most loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grand-children. Kathleen was a Christian being raised Southern Baptist. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and absolute lover of animals.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother David S. Goddard. She is survived by her five previously mentioned children. Her daughter Pamela D. Gheen and her husband Michael of Loveland, CO, son Patrick M. Schulz and his wife Anne of Andrews, TX, son Gary P. Schulz and his wife Misty of Centennial, CO, daughter Susan M. Jelley and her husband John of British Colunmia, Canada, and son Leroy H. Schulz, Junior of Andrews, TX.

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jennifer S. Furtak and her husband Derek of Fort Collins, CO, grandson Major Christopher M. Gheen and his wife Major Tamiko T. Gheen of San Antonio, TX, grandson Kevin Schulz and his wife Taylor of Colorado Springs, CO, and grandson Kyle Schulz of Centennial, CO. Her great grand-children: Taylor Furtak, Gavin Gheen, Carter Schulz, and Gunner Gheen.

In lieu of flowers please donate to the Colon Cancer Foundation or the ASPCA. The family would also like to thank Kindred Hospice of Midland for their care and compassion of our beloved Mom and Grandmother.
