Jose was born April 25, 1932 in San Miguel De Alto, Jalisco, Mexico. He married Mary Jimenez on Oct. 1, 1962 and she died in 1999. Jose has been a resident of Lubbock since 1958 and was a self-employed carpenter. Jose was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church. Survivors include his children, Johnny Joe of San Antonio, Rafael "Ralph" of Lubbock and Marina Hernandez and her husband, Martin of San Antonio; and a grandson, Nathaniel V. Hernandez.
