Funeral services for Will Edd Waldrop, 60, of Hen-nessey, Okla., were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10, at Hennessey Church of Christ with Billy Horton and Lanny Hobe officiating. Services were under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home in Hennessey.
Services will also be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 12, at Andrews Church of Christ in Andrews. Burial will follow in Andrews Old Cemetery, under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Waldrop died Monday, May 8, after a brief battle with leukemia.
He was born in Sundown on March 28, 1946, to J.T. and Leona Estelle Campbell Waldrop. He was raised in Andrews and graduated from Andrews High School.
He married Janice Norman in Odessa in 1977 and began working for Stoehr Wire Rope of Odessa, relocating in 1981 to Hennessey.
He was a member of Hennessey Church of Christ and Hennessey Lions Club. He was captain and longtime member of the Hennessey Fire Department and had been on the town council since 1992.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Billy Edd Waldrop. Survivors include his wife of Hennessey; four daughters, Lauri Petrolia and Donna Waldrop of Hennessey, Lisa Adkins of Collierville, Tenn., and Kayla Waldrop of Enid, Okla.; two sons, Kenny Waldrop of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Justin Waldrop of Hennessey; a brother, Jay Waldrop of Andrews; two sisters, Jane Vining and Myrle Price of Andrews; and five grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hennessey Rose Rock Bank Waldrop Fund, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or Hennessey Church of Christ.
