Winifred Estes Darsey was born in Quanah, Texas to Winnie Davis Estes and Bertrum Palestine Estes. She married Robert Darsey on February 23, 1936 in Lubbock, Texas. They had two children, Joanne Stevens and Robert Darsey, Jr.
Winifred participated in many activities throughout her life. Some of these included: Steward of Communion, Sunday School teacher, and choir member at the First United Methodist Church where she was a member for 75 plus years; Charter member of Stitch and Chatter Club, Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star; Motley County Arts and Crafts; Red Hats; La Carta Club; Matador Garden Club; Friends of the Library; and President of El Progressio Club.
Survivors include: one daughter Joanne and her husband Steve, one son Robert and his wife Beverly; two sisters Lucretia Campbell and Shirley York; two grandsons and a great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
