MATADOR - L.B. Campbell, 86, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2006, in Amarillo.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church of Matador with the Rev. Winfield Davenport, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Eastmound Cemetery by Seigler Funeral Home.

Mr. Campbell was born July 20, 1920, in Motley County, the son and grandson of a pioneer Motley County ranching family. He was a veteran of World War II, a former member of the VFW and American Legion and Matador Lions Club and served on the Matador City Council for several years.

Survivors include a son, Bundy Hal Campbell of Matador; a daughter, Olivia Barton of Matador; a stepson, Ben Grundy of Matador; a stepdaughter, Laura Slover of Paducah; two brothers, Harold Campbell and Vance Campbell, both of Motley County; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
