George A. Carruth, 76 of Andrews, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 1, 2011.
George was born March 11, 1934 in Patricia, Texas to W.C. and Connie Carruth.
He was a football referee and a baseball umpire for many years. He also worked in the oil field before working for Andrews County in maintenance. George graduated from Andrews High School in 1954.
He was preceeded in death by his parents and his brothers, W.Jack Carruth, Billy Ray Carruth, and Truman Carruth.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly of Andrews; son, Kirby Carruth of Kingsland,Texas; three daughters, Sandy Fair of Sidney, Ohio, Diane Cody of Kansas and Cindy Ray of Ingleside,Texas;brother, Lloyd Carruth of Kilgore,Texas; sister, Shirley Ray of Ranger,Texas; stepchildren, David Denton,Betty Fischer,and Steven Denton all of Wichita,Kansas, Linda Weis of Amarillo,Texas, and Sue Lawson of Virginia Beach, Virginia; 20 grandchildren,22 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
