UMBARGER — Dennis Brandt, 89, of Umbarger died Tuesday, March 5, 2013, in Amarillo.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Brooks Chapel by Bill Dorsey, deacon. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Umbarger with the Rev. Daniel Dreher officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon.
Dennis was born June 8, 1923, in Canyon to John and Emma Zeiner Brandt. He married Marcella Batenhorst on May 22, 1945, in Umbarger. He retired from Randall County maintenance after 31 years. Dennis was a member of Knights of Columbus and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Umbarger. He enjoyed gardening and the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanett Brockman, on Dec. 23, 2006, and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Marcella Brandt; four sons, Gerald Brandt and wife Truetta, Tom Brandt, Louis Brandt and David Brandt; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jack Brandt and wife Sadie; and a son-in-law, Art Brockman.
