Thomas “Smiley” Francis, 93, of Andrews passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 in Andrews.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 20, 2015 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews with Leslie Boone of the Andrews Church of Christ officiating. Military graveside rites will follow in the Andrews West Cemetery under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home. Please celebrate the life of “Smiley” by visiting www.mcnettfuneralhome.com.
Thomas was born April 6, 1922 in Paris, Texas to James William Franklin Francis and Myrtle Garrett Francis. He was raised in Tarzan and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He married Audrey June Reynolds on January 27, 1944 in Midland. They moved to Andrews in 1984 from Carlsbad. He had worked for The Superior Oil Company and Mobil Oil Company for 40 years, and retired as a Production & Construction Foreman. He was a member of the Andrews Church of Christ, where he had served as a Deacon. He was preceded in death by his wife on April 27, 2008. He was also preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, John, James, and Bill Francis, 2 sisters, Jean Flowers and Billie Mae Sander, 1 son, George Thomas Francis, 1 grandson, Billy Stout, 1 great grandson, Hunter North, and 2 son in laws, Gary Hamilton and Harold Stout.
He is survived by his 2 daughters, Janette Lewis and husband Fred, of Odessa and Shirley Stout of Andrews; 6 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren.
