Funeral Mass for David Davila, age 67 of Seminole, Texas will be celebrated Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with Father Jose De Dios Gonzalez officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. Rosary will be held Monday January 30 from 6-7:00 p.m. at the church. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.
Mr. Davila was born February 28, 1955 in Lubbock, Texas to Antonia (Rodriguez) and Claronaldo Davila. He married Juanita Salinas in Seminole on January 6, 1976. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church and worked as a diesel mechanic. David loved working on tractors and rebuilding old cars. He owned Davila Tractor Mechanics for forty years. He enjoyed joking around with people and always tried to act like he was a mean man, but was a gentle giant, always ready to help others. One of his proudest moments was when his son bought him a motorcycle after he had not owned one for many years. David loved his family dearly; his grandchildren were the joy of his life.
David Davila passed away Friday, January 27, 2023 at Northwest Texas Health Care System in Amarillo, Texas. He is preceded in death by his father, Claronaldo Davila; one great-grandchild, and two brothers. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Davila of Seminole; one son, David Lee Davila and wife Cindy of Seminole; two daughters, Debra Davila and husband Richard Macias, and Alexandra Davila, both of Seminole; one brother, Lauro Davila of Smith Station, Alabama; one sister, Janie Warren and husband Danny of Longmont, Colorado; his mother, Antonia Davila of Seminole; six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
