*Obituary Iris Moore Hayes
In the evening hours of, November 26, 2014, Iris Lee Hayes (née Moore), passed away in Andrews, Texas. A graduate of Texas Tech and first grade and kindergarten teacher in Andrews since 1955, Iris married Dr. Elbert Neil Hayes on December 25, 1974. Iris quickly became endeared to Neil's adult children, Dr. Linda Hayes of Houston, Texas, and Hilary Haygood, of Andrews, Texas.

Iris found her true calling in life with the birth of her grandchildren a decade later. She retired from the Andrews Independent School District and devoted her life to being a kind and loving grandmother and aunt to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and nephews. She loved travel, working puzzles, and playing bridge with her friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Neil, and her parents, Grady and Mary Moore. She is also preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Boswell, and a granddaughter, Cassie Haygood. She is survived by her daughters Linda Hayes and Hilary Haygood; her son-in-law Danny Haygood, of Andrews, Texas; her grandchildren Lane and Becky Haygood of Odessa, Texas, Patrick and Julia Haygood of Andrews, Texas, and Joe Ryne Haygood of Andrews, Texas; her great-grandchildren David and Daniel Haygood; and her sisters and brothers,
Nelda and Narvel Rogers of Hurst, Texas, Nancy and Jerry Simpson of Brady, Texas, Charles and Linda Moore of Weatherford, Texas, and Dickye and Cynthia Moore of Lometa, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and nephews.

The family would like to offer their special gratitude Letty and Anna Rondan and Maria Bejerano, who provided around-the-clock care to Iris during her final days. They eased a difficult time with their kindness and compassion.

A visitation will be held 10:30 AM -11:30 AM Saturday at McNett Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Saturday. Graveside will be Saturday, November 29, at 2pm in Andrews West Cemetery with Dickye Moore officiating.

In lieu of sending flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Friends of the Andrews County Library or to a charity of the giver's choice.
