Graveside services for Eleanor Traweek, 76, of Matador will be at 11 a.m. Friday in East Mound Cemetery with the Revs. Monte Wyke and Eddie Marcum officiating.

Burial will be under direction of Rix Funeral Directors in Lubbock.

She died Monday, April 6, 1998, in Methodist Hospital.

She was born March 7, 1922, in Shattuck, Okla. She graduated from Lubbock High School and Texas Tech University, where she earned bachelor's and master's degrees. She graduated from the New England Conservatory in Philadelphia. She was a Methodist.

She married Howard Traweek on Nov. 4, 1961, in Clovis, N.M. He died Aug. 5, 1988. She taught piano in Lubbock, Abernathy, Matador, Whitharral, Patton Springs, Lorenzo and Paducah.

Survivors include a daughter, Dr. Nancy Eleanor Barrow of San Marcos; and two grandchildren.
