GAINES COUNTY — A Seminole man died in a single-vehicle rollover near the New Mexico state line early Saturday, the Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed Monday.
Twenty-year-old Carlos Isaac Perez-Loera of Seminole was killed when the vehicle he was driving crashed near the intersection of County Road 251 and County Road 214 in far western Gaines County, DPS said. The crash occurred just after 7 a.m. Saturday.
Troopers said Perez-Loera was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox northbound on CR 251 approaching the intersection when he ran a stop sign and drove into an adjacent pasture. The vehicle rolled and Perez-Loera, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle.
Perez-Loera was pronounced dead on scene by a justice of the peace.
