Robert Lee "Bob" Hyden, 77, of Andrews was taken into the hands of his Lord Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001.

Bob was born May 23, 1924, in Corsicana to Myrtle Lee and Archie Hyden. Bob spent 10 years in the United States Marine Corps and served in World War II and the Korean War. He worked for Halliburton Services for 31 years, retiring in 1982. Following his retirement, Bob became an avid golfer and could be found most days on the golf course. Bob loved children and delighted in teasing them, especially his grandchildren. He was an active member of Means Memorial United Methodist Church and a volunteer for the American Cancer Society.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Maxine; by daughters, Barbara Wright of Denver City, Stormie Woodward of Manhattan, Kan., Deanna Jordan of Odessa and Karen Wimberley of Austin; sons, Robert Raymond Hyden of Monchs Corner, S.C., and Terry Wimberley of Andrews; brothers, Glen Hyden of Corpus Christi and Abner Hyden of Corsicana; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001, at Means Memorial United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Community Care Hospice or the American Cancer Society.

ANDREWS, TEXAS - Maxine Hyden, 90, of Andrews passed away on Friday, May 13, 2016 in Andrews.

Maxine was born on March 5, 1926 at Texon, Texas to Harmon "Bob" and Ada Plum Adams. She was raised in Texon; she graduated from Reagan County High School in Big Lake, Texas, near Texon, in 1944. Maxine attended Business College in Dallas, Texas. Her passion was playing bridge; she was a member of four bridge clubs at one time. Maxine had many interests, she loved to sew, play golf and cook, she was known as the lemon cake lady at the nursing home where she often delivered fresh lemon cakes for the residents to enjoy. She had a very giving heart and enjoyed her friends, family and grandchildren.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, R.L. "Bob" Hyden, one son Terry Wimberley, one daughter Karen Wimberley, one sister Pat Kennedy and one brother Mike Adams.

Maxine is survived by one daughter, Deanna and husband James Jordan of Fredericksburg, Texas; seven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
