Azlee Burnes Neinast ANDREWS-Azlee Neinast died Jan. 26 in Lakemont, Ga. She was 93 years old. A longtime resident of Andrews, she was a homemaker, the mother of three children, and an active member of her community. She, along with her husband, was a founding member of Faith Lutheran Church. She was an accomplished quilter; she also enjoyed working with crafts. Her parents homesteaded in New Mexico and farmed in Central Texas. During World War II, she left her family home and worked at a cement plant, an egg-breaking factory, and a textile manufacturer as part of the war effort. She married Al Neinast on June 6, 1950; they were married 42 years. He died in 1992. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Wilson and Callie Jane Medley Burnes of Lometa, Texas; her husband, Al Neinast of Andrews; two sons, Gary Neinast of Andrews and Carl Neinast of Hart, Texas; and two grandsons, Jason Neinast and Brad Stover, both of Andrews. She is survived by a daughter, Helen R. Neinast and husband, Tom Ettinger, of Georgia; a daughter-in-law, Peggy Neinast of Andrews; and two granddaughters, Christi Neinast Flores of Odessa, Texas, and Cassie Neinast Kuykendall and husband Chris of Lenorah, Texas. She has nine great-grandchildren. A memorial was held at Faith Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Faith Lutheran Church or to the hospice organization.
