HEREFORD - Charles Springer, 68, died Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, in Lubbock.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church with Dr. Darren Skinner officiating. The family will have a private interment at Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, north of Hereford. Arrangements are by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home

Mr. Springer was born Oct. 24, 1936, in Hereford, the son of William and Annie Mae Springer. He graduated from Hereford High School in 1955 and attended West Texas State College until he started farming in 1957. He married Daleine Tinnin on June 2, 1957. Mr. Springer continued farming until 1981, when he became an agent with Farmers Insurance Group. Mr. Springer was also one of the first ranchers in the Texas Panhandle to start breeding Simmental cattle. He was a member of the Hereford Lions Club and a member of First United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by a brother, George Albert Springer, and a granddaughter, Kirstin Grace Springer.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Cory Springer and wife, Angel, of Athens, Colby Springer and wife, Susan, of Canyon and Jolby Springer and wife, Angela, of Amarillo; two daughters, Kristi Cabbiness and husband, Chris, and Charleine Neill and husband, Derek, all of Canyon; a sister, Mary Lois Summers of Elgin; and 12 grandchildren.
