George Peebles was born September 16, 1923 in Tahequah, Oklahoma.
He served in the US Army Air Corps, during World War 2. He was awarded several medals including the Purple Heart.
He married Patricia Scott on August 4, 1945 in Columbus, Kansas.
George and Patricia moved to Andrews from Wink in 1957. George worked for Amoco for many years until he retired in 1984.
George loved to play golf and work with computers. He was an avid hunter in years past. George was also very involved in his family's genealogy. He was a member of Means Memorial United Methodist Church in Andrews for many years.
George was preceded in death by his wife Patricia in 1995, two brothers and one sister.
George is survived by three sons, Mike Peebles of Round Rock, Texas; Lamar Peebles of Odessa; and Ricky Peebles of Andrews; three grandchildren Tyler Peebles, Katie Mullins and Morgan Sanders; three great-grandchildren, Payton, Brooke and Parker.
